Lenten Practice

This Lent, our congregation is invited into a simple but meaningful spiritual discipline: read one chapter of the Gospel of John each day beginning March 1st. By Easter, we will have journeyed through the whole story together. We recommend the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV).

Pastor Ben reminds us that Lent is a season of mixed emotions - hope and heaviness, joy and restlessness, clarity and confusion often competing for priority.

From the earliest days of the church, Lent has held this tension as believers prepared their hearts for Easter. The Gospel of John is a perfect choice for this Eason because it reveals Jesus with tenderness and depth - showing us signs of abundance, love, and life even when the world feels uncertain. John helps us look for the good news that is already here.

As we move through these cold weeks and shifting feelings, may this shared reading anchor us in Christ's steady presence. Good news is still coming. Let's look for it together.
