Longest Night Service

It’s not always the hap-happiest season of all. Christmas can feel empty, painful, or lonely for people facing it with sickness, grief, or trauma. Bearing these feelings while the rest of world celebrates can add alienation to pain.  

This year, the Montgomery ministers group is hosting a Longest Night service at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church (10345 Montgomery Road) on Sunday, December 21 at 6PM. At this somber, contemplative service, we will offer a space for grief and sorrow during the Advent season. It's a time for people experiencing loss, pain, or heartbreak to find solace, express their feelings to God and other people, and to ponder the promise of light in the darkness.
