Small Gardening for You and Your Children

Join us! Noon to 4 p.m. April 25th

An interactive introduction to gardening for children with parents who may not have grown flowers or vegetables before. (Also, plenty of information if you’re an experienced gardener. Fine to come, browse, and learn even if you don’t have children.)

Location: Evergreen Great Lawn

1. Learn about soil, sunlight & water needs for plants

2. Plant a radish seed to take home (see it grow in a week)

3. Transplant a pansy flower to take home

4. Transplant a Swiss Chard vegetable to take home (like lettuce but more nutritious)

5. Learn how to water a plant. (Roots need to breathe, too!)

6. Extra cup of soil and empty potting container to go.
