  • A Blessing of the Animals for pets of all kinds 10:00-11:00

Join us for the second annual Summer Festival.   It’s a time to celebrate nature, have fun, and learn more about how to be good stewards of the earth.  The festival is free and open to the community.

There will be music, informational booths, delicious homemade baked goods, advice on pollinator gardens, and helpful tips about recycling, water conservation and native plants. Our Kids Zone will feature games, nature/craft projects, face painting, and a scavenger hunt.

Pick up a free tree seedling, a sample of eco-friendly laundry detergent sheets and a meatless cookbook. Take a chance on a raffle for garden tools and enjoy ice cream from Boy Scout Troop 258.

Booths from earth-friendly organizations will include Gorman Heritage Farm (organic gardening), the Ohio Valley Forestry Fellowship, the Society of St. Andrew and NEEDS (food insecurity), Solar Power & Light (alternative energy) and the Montgomery Environmental & Advisory Commission (composting).

New this year: the festival will hold a special Blessing of the Animals from 10:00-11:00.  Bring your family pets (on a leash or in a pet carrier) as we recognize the importance of caring for all animals.
